About me
Hi, I'm Simon, and I thank you for viewing my website and for showing interest in what I have to offer in relation to driving instruction. I am licensed by the DVSA to give driving instruction under a trainee licence.

I was born in Taunton in 1984 and have lived in Somerset all my life. I have a deep affinity with this county and feel privileged to live in this part of the country. I grew up in Chard although currently I am living in Mudford, near Yeovil with my wife and 2 dogs.

Before beginning my career as a driving instructor, I was a taxi driver, working for a local private hire company for 4 years, with my main role being the transportation of NHS patients to and from hospital for regular treatments such as dialysis, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Prior to this I was a carer for 13 years, helping someone who suffered with Down Syndrome and in later years, Alzheimer's. As is evident, I have a caring nature and I think this is crucial in my role as a driving instructor where patience, understanding and a knowledge of the anxiety people can face when attempting to learn something new is vital. This also gives me a deep feeling of the importance of road safety, and you can be assured that this is a responsibility I take extremely seriously. I decided to train to become a driving instructor because I need a job with real satisfaction and there is nothing better than seeing someone pass their test first time; to know that you have worked together to achieve a goal and provide someone with skills that will enhance that person's life and allow them opportunities is a real honour.

I am fortunate to be training with LDC using the latest adult coaching and training techniques so you can be assured the training I give will be of the highest standard. I chose to work with LDC because everybody is different, and the LD System allows for flexibility in lessons so that you learn to drive safely at a rate that suits you. I aim to make every lesson enjoyable and as productive as possible. The LD System just helps me to do this more effectively. Lessons are always conducted in a calm, friendly and relaxed manner as I firmly believe in making pupils feel at ease during lessons.
